About Me

~~~
OUR definition of pop music has changed. While the term has once been used to describe commercial, or "popular" music aimed at a mass audience, it has evolved into a genre of its very own. Now, while we still have massive radio hits that are recognized and enjoyed by a larger public, we also have a smaller, independent market of musicians using elements of pop music to create innovative and smart songs.
The Gamut hopes to showcase a variety of musicians in the growing alternative pop music scene, and hopes to bring attention to great pop artists outside of the mainstream music circle.
This idea of "pop" can range from music and independent muscians that adopt a familiar and even sometimes mainstream "pop sound," to artists that are not considered pop through the sound of their music, but rather through the attention and press they receive in the independent music world. Either way, I hope to cover this all with a dash of Personality. Capitalized. AND CAPPED LOCKED!
And sometimes I will just share some cool playlists I have on my mind. And sometimes I will just share 2 much. And sometimes I will use numbers when I should be using w0rd5 and l377ers.
My name is Aristotle. I'm an English and Professional Writing student at the University of Toronto, and I am pretty b0mb. Yes, with a zero. Cuz' I'm a hero. Whoops, I better cool it before this becomes a rap song.
This is a picture of me and my twin brother, Socrates. I am the better looking one.
Since I'm such a Grade A writer, I decided I'm going to describe my blog's COOL (Ranch) factor through a bunch of nonsensical and "pop" culture riddled metaphors. Zesty!
My blog is as cool/more cool than:
  • Molly Ringwald doing a keg stand
  • The tagline on this Christopher Pike book
  • This awesome Sneaker Pimps "6 Underground" remix in this runway video. And the model that shoves the ill-prepared PETA protestors.
  • Elaine Benes (barely)
Truth: my blog will never be as cool as any of those above things. But it will surely try.
If you want to be my best friend, I am currently taking applications. You can do so by checking out my some of my writing in the University of Toronto at Mississauga's weekly newspaper The Medium, and you can follow me on Twitter. I might follow you back. But only if you're a psychotic fr33k that plans to murder me l8r. <3
